Waterloo School website launch.

On Friday, 6th June, Waterloo School celebrated the launch of our fantastic new website.
The day began with a whole school assembly in the hall. We all counted down with the countdown clock and dead on 9.15 am our new website appeared on our huge smartboard screen in the hall.
Miss Cherry demonstrated the different pages that could be found on our site and taught us an easy way to remember our new website address.
After that, we all got a chance to meet Sunny the seagull. He was a little bit shy at first but was delighted to become part of Waterloo school and he let out a happy little noise!
Sunny is looking forward to visiting the Reception, Year1  and Year 2 classes when each class gets a chance to win the weekly attendance award.

During the day each year group were able to meet Robin Evans the cartoonist. Robin came all the way from Kendal. He showed us how to draw Sunny. Each class told Robin what they would like him to draw. We had Sunny on a skateboard and we even had Sunny on a space rocket!
He was brilliant! Robin showed us how to add perspective, direction and shading into drawings.
We now have loads of enormous cartoon drawings of Sunny to display around the School.

Bradley from Waterloo Nursery was the lucky winner of our seagull naming competition. He was responsible for naming the seagull ‘Sunny’.

As a prize Robin drew Bradley his very own seagull poster. Bradley wanted a red car with big red eyes.

Robin thoroughly enjoyed his visit to Waterloo School. He was amazed how much we knew already about perspective and shading. He loved our new seagull playground signs that Mr Gray organised for the school. Have you seen our new signs? They look great, don’t they?
Take a look at our seagull gallery below to see all the wonderful pictures.
