Waterloo's Boys Football Team have completed a league and cup double by adding the Blackpool Primary Schools' Champions League Trophy to the Bloomfield Cup they won in December.

Waterloo celebrate their success at Stanley Park Oval.
The Road to Champions' League Success
After qualifying from their group, Waterloo saw off Marton 4- 1 in the 2nd round and drew Moor Park in the quarter finals.
Quarter Final v Moor Park (won 4- 2 aet)
Waterloo were dominant from the first whistle, but couldn't find a finishing touch to some good moves and Moor Park found themselves 1-0 up at the break thanks to a penalty.
After half time, Waterloo continued to press and missed a golden opportunity to equalise from the spot; a great save keeping Moor Park's slender lead in tact. Resolute defending continued from Moor Park, but Waterloo grabbed an equaliser thanks to a Matthew Sheridan effort. However, Moor Park regained the lead almost immediately with a superbly taken goal and there were just five minutes to go. Waterloo flooded forward and with seconds to go, a hopeful cross from the right from Alex Footman turned into a dipping shot and Waterloo were level and extra time ensued.
Both teams sought the winning strike, but Waterloo struck in each half to claim a semi final spot with goals from Matthew Sheridan and Michael Woon.
Semi Finals/ Finals day
Semi final- Waterloo v Anchorsholme (won 5-1)
A beautiful day and playing surface at Stanley Park Oval, saw Waterloo shoot out of the blocks and were 1- 0 up inside a minute thanks to a brave header from Will Robinson. The match was end to end with good goalkeeping from Waterloo keeper Hamza Shah, who kept several efforts out from Anchorsholme. At the other end though, Waterloo took their chances and another goal from Will Robinson and a Josh Edwards strike gave Waterloo a commanding 3-0 interval lead.
Anchorsholme came out from the break determined and grabbed a goal back, but it was Waterloo who kicked on, with Will Robinson completing a hat trick and a left foot bullet into the top corner from Josh Edwards powered Waterloo into the final.
The other semi final was a tight affair with Layton edging out Roseacre 2-1 after extra time.

Waterloo talking about their tactics together.
Final- Waterloo v Layton (won 4-1)
Layton got off to a fabulous start, much to the delight of their Year sixes delightedly cheering in the stand, when Matty O'Reilly cooly slotted home inside the first two minutes after hesitation in the Waterloo defence. However, Waterloo hit back three times without reply in quick succession in the form or Matthew Sheridan, Will Robinson and Josh Edwards to stun Layton and claim a 3- 1 lead at the break.
Layton had a chance to get back into the game when a penalty was awarded for a push, but the opportunity was missed (a great save from Hamza Shah) and the deficit of 3- 1 proved too much. Layton pressed keenly, but Waterloo held firm and managed to notch another goal on the counter attack, when Josh Edwards slotted home to seal the Champions' League for Waterloo in the final minutes.

Waterloo receive their medals and trophy.
