Netball Club
There are two netball clubs at Waterloo. Both boys and girls are invited to join. Mondays (all year round dependent on the weather) Mrs J May The Monday club is for Year 4 children at 3.35 pm - 4.30 pm until the second half of the Summer term. The children work individually, in pairs and work up to small team games, using the netball skills they have learnt. We focus mainly on the chest pass throw, footwork, marking their partner and intercepting. The children have lots of fun but also learn to develop their skills to become ready for the Wednesday club. In the second half of the Summer term Year 3 children are invited to join and Year 4 children move up to the Wednesday club.
Wednesdays (all year round except the first half of the Spring term) Mrs K Robinshaw and Miss C Keighley The Wednesday club is for Year 5 & 6 children at 3.35 pm - 4.30 pm. By the time the children attend they have already developed the basic skills and work towards playing the game of High Fives. We further develop the skills and introduce rules, positioning, shooting and other passes. In order for the children to develop all the skills of netball, ready for High School, they learn to play every position and are rotated on a regular basis. We also take part in the Blackpool inter schools tournament and the Youth Games.
