Year 4 Animations

As part of our Excellence and Enjoyment programme, Y4 wrote, directed and produced some animated films. This was an exciting and challenging project, which involved every child in the year group. Ideas were collated and a script created. Scenary was made, along with moveable characters. Children positioned characters, took a still photograph, then very slightly moved the characters again. This process was repeated thousands of times, and a computer linked all the photos together making a moving image. Children added sound effects, narration and special effects.

The following year (2007), we invested in professional modelling material which helped making our characters seem more real. Children were extremely proud of their finished films - we hope you will enjoy them.

Waterloo has won a media Oscar for their film EJECT!

We beat many other schools in Blackpool (including several secondary schools) to win this prestigious award in the 'Tell us a Story' catagory.

The makers of the film (now in Y5) are thrilled with the result, and received an Oscar statue trophy, an Ipod Nano and a certificate. Well done to all involved.
