Year 4 Numeracy

Pupils in year 4 are “streamed” into ability sets for Numeracy. These sets have work suitably adapted to the children’s needs. Regular teacher assessments and monitoring of children means that the sets are not rigid; some children move sets throughout the year.

Every fortnight, year 4 children participate in Fun Friday (usually outside the classroom), which encompasses many facets including teamwork, word problems, consolidation and using and applying knowledge. However, children should not have fun just on Fridays; all lessons are fun and interactive!

Homework should be completed over the weekend and returned to school on a Monday. Children receive homework on a Friday, as it is linked to the work that the children have done that week.
